Saudi Sports For All Federation announces Kingdom Arena as venue for third edition of Riyadh Marathon

The Saudi Sports For All Federation announced that the new Kingdom Arena will be the start and finish site for the third edition of the Riyadh Marathon, which will take place on February 10, supported by the Ministry of Sports.

The Riyadh Marathon has become one of the most anticipated sporting events in the country, making Kingdom Arena the ideal location to start and finish this exciting road race. In 2023, the marathon attracted 15,000 runners from 128 nationalities, with the percentage of Saudis reaching 61.6%. Steps have also been taken in 2023 to certify the marathon as a World Athletics-certified road race.

The start and finish point will be Imam Saud bin Faisal Road, opposite the Kingdom Arena, offering participants several race distances, namely the full marathon course (42.2 km), the half marathon (21, 1 km), the 10 km race for people aged 17 and over and the 4 km for beginners, families and children. A “Marathon Village” will also be set up on Kingdom Arena Square for two days, from February 9-10, to offer food and drink stalls, entertainment and a wide range of fitness and wellness activities. -be.

For half-marathon and marathon participants, the 21.1km course winds through the streets of Riyadh, and the city's iconic landmarks, such as Diriyah and Wadi Hanifa. Those running the full 26.2 mile marathon will do this course twice. The 10km course will take place in the north of the city, passing Wonder Garden and Boulevard World, while the 4km race will fill the gap between it and the main 21.1km course.
