Permanent bleachers to be installed at Jane Sanders Stadium

18 July 2017

On Monday, Oregon athletics announced plans to add permanent bleachers at Oregon softball’s Jane Sanders Stadium.

According to the press release, the bleachers will be built thanks to an additional donation by Bob Sanders, who donated $16 million to build Jane Sanders Stadium to replace Howe Field.

Temporary bleachers were used beyond the center field wall, but the installation of the permanent bleachers will keep the stadium’s capacity at 2,500. Construction is set to begin in the fall and should be ready for the 2018 season’s home games.

Oregon softball home games were well-attended in 2017, as the Ducks, who went 26-2 at home, made a run all the way to the Women’s College World Series semifinal in Oklahoma City. The Ducks fell to eventual national champions Oklahoma.

The 2018 schedule is yet to be announced.
