New Scoreboard unveiled at Tommy Oliver Stadium

15 November 2017

A new high-tech scoreboard was unveiled Tuesday at Tommy Oliver Stadium in Panama City.

The scoreboard cost just under $250,000 and it was paid for by philanthropists Joe and Jeannette Chapman.

According to Bay District Schools officials, more than 200 extra seats have been added to the stadium along with the new scoreboard. They also say the nearest scoreboard of this caliber is in Pensacola.

Dr. John Haley, Executive Director of Operations at Bay District Schools, says, "[I'm] looking forward to having kids play games here and the public, the community at large getting to see what's going on in terms of our playback and the scores. I don't think you're going to find anything like this anything near this local area."

Bay District Schools officials say construction on Tommy Oliver Stadium is scheduled to be completed before spring 2018.
