New outdoor turf practice field installed at Gaylord Family — Oklahoma Memorial Stadium

25 May 2017

The south end zone renovation project at Gaylord Family — Oklahoma Memorial Stadium is closing in on being finished.

This week, turf was installed outside the stadium on the south end, partially occupying the area where the Sooners' practice fields were before the renovation.

It isn't a complete field—it's just about 60 yards long with no end zones and is an irregular shape at one end—but it will be able to be used for some outdoor work as part of the indoor strength and speed complex that is being completed.

The interior seating part of the renovations—which bowled in that end of the stadium—were finished in time for last season.

The team recently moved from a temporary locker facility across Jenkins Ave. into the new locker rooms.
