Major League Table Tennis Announces Picks for 2023 Draft

Major League Table Tennis (MLTT) has unveiled the outcomes of its inaugural draft, revealing a remarkable selection of 64 players from 24 different countries. These players have been officially drafted into 8 formidable teams, each representing a city across the United States.

The historic first overall pick was secured by the Carolina Gold Rush, led by head coach Alex Yang, who chose the talented 28-year-old French player Enzo Angles. Subsequent picks were Daniel Gorak to the Florida Crocs, Jinxin Wang to the Princeton Revolution, Amy Wang to the Texas Smash, Damien Provost to the Chicago Wind, Wenzhang Tao to the Bay Area Blasters, Nikhil Kumar to the Seattle Spinners, and Jiwei Xia to the Portland Power.

This draft marks the launch of the first-ever professional table tennis league in the USA. MLTT introduces an innovative team-based format that combines singles, doubles, and a groundbreaking Golden Game where players alternate every 4 points in a race to 21. The Texas Smash made a significant statement by selecting Amy Wang as their first pick, making her the 4th overall choice. This format defies traditional norms, highlighting that skill transcends gender and promising fans thrilling and unforgettable gameplay.
