Inter awarded with the Italian Super Cup after the 3-0 victory over arch-rival AC Milan

In front of a crowd of more than 50,000 fans at the King Fahd International Stadium, Italian cup holders Inter Milan defeated Serie A champions AC Milan to 3-0, winning the third final of the tournament that will take place in the Kingdom.

His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Sport, Badr bin Abdulrahman Al-Qadi, and the President of the Lega Serie A Lorenzo Cassini, yesterday awarded the Inter team with the title of the Italian Super Cup, an event organized by the Ministry of Sport as part of Diriyah Season 2 sporting events.

Amid a large crowd and the presence of several international and local media, Dimarco scored the opener early in the first half, before Džeko extended Inter's lead with his second goal. Inter's third goal in the second half was thanks to Martínez, confirming his team's victory and obtaining the Super Cup title for the second consecutive time and for the seventh in the history of Inter history.

Inter are the third team to be awarded for the Italian Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, after Juventus and Lazio who had won the cup in two versions held in Jeddah and Riyadh.

The fact that the Kingdom hosts this important event is part of the international sporting tournaments and events to be held in the 2022 Diriyah Season, promoted by the Ministry of Sports, with the aim of achieving the objectives of the Kingdom's 2030 Vision, and as one of the initiatives of the “Quality of Life” Program, hosting the biggest and most spectacular international sporting events, to ensure a great visitor experience of the Diriyah Season with extraordinary activities.
