Hussey builds seats for Notre Dame stadium

8 September 2017

NORTH BERWICK, Maine — The Fighting Irish of the University of Notre Dame football team got off to great start in its opening game Saturday with a 49-16 win over Temple.

Notre Dame also debuted its newly refurbished stadium with Maine-made seats as part of a multimillion dollar project to enhance the fan experience and revitalize the stadium.

Hussey Seating was awarded the contract for the seating replacement of the 80,000-seat stadium. According to a statement, Hussey replaced the aging wooden bleachers with Hussey’s Perma-Plank, a durable roll-formed steel plank with Notre Dame Blue Perma-Cap bleacher covers. These covers are a resilient, maintenance-free, vinyl bleacher cover that will also fit over existing wood or aluminum bleachers.
