Dick's Sporting Goods to anchor Irgens' Ruby Farm development

12 May 2015

Dick's Sporting Goods is the first tenant named for Irgens' mixed-used development at Brookfield's Ruby Farm property, new renderings submitted to the city show.

If approved at Monday night's Plan Commission meeting, the 50,000-square-foot sports equipment and apparel retailer would become the first tenant officially part of Irgens' development, called The Corridor.

Estimated at $142.7 million in property value, plans include about 136,000 square feet of retail space in several buildings at the north end of the property near Blue Mound Road, as well as a hotel, potential city convention center, medical office building and corporate offices fronting Interstate 94.

Wauwatosa-based Irgens recently got the green light for $7.5 million in city money for infrastructure work on the development, doled out through a tax incremental financing district and repaid by new property taxes generated by the development. The development is expected to generate more than $2.4 million in property taxes annually.
