Introduction:

Sunderland AFC has announced the next phase of its long-term investment programme, with major upgrades planned for the Stadium of Light and the Academy of Light during summer 2026.

Features:

The latest programme includes a multi-million-pound investment in stadium infrastructure, featuring new premium executive boxes and additional improvements aimed at enhancing facilities for supporters, players, partners, and staff.

At the Stadium of Light, the club will install a new LED perimeter advertising system ahead of the upcoming season. The upgrade is expected to improve the matchday experience while creating additional commercial opportunities.

The investment will also cover pitch upgrades, modernisation of first-team training facilities across several areas, and the introduction of advanced technologies to support player performance, preparation, and recovery.

Previous phases of the programme delivered safe standing areas, upgraded public address and lighting systems, a high-quality playing surface, a new retail store and ticket office, and refurbished premium hospitality spaces.
