This project will add two new courts, increasing the total number of courts at the facility to eight. The Round Rock Sports Center expansion, set for completion by early 2026, will add two basketball courts—or four volleyball courts—bringing the total number of courts to eight. The project will also introduce championship court seating, a secondary facility entrance, and additional parking.

Currently, the Sports Center offers 276 hours of playtime weekly but receives requests for 340 hours, while the Multipurpose Complex has 112 available hours with demand for 183. These upgrades will help meet the growing need for court time and enhance Round Rock’s ability to host more tournaments for sports like flag football and lacrosse. Once completed, Old Settlers Park and the Multipurpose Complex will feature 27 fields within a quarter-mile radius, reinforcing Round Rock’s status as a premier destination for large-scale sports events.

This expansion is part of the City of Round Rock’s $274 million bond package, approved by voters in May 2023, which funds various quality-of-life, recreation, and sports projects. Additionally, the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex, a 60-acre outdoor facility that opened in 2017 within Old Settlers Park, will expand its ten-field layout by adding five synthetic fields, one natural grass field, and collegiate-level press boxes, with completion expected in 2027.
