Introduction:
The Minns Labor Government has commenced the $309 million redevelopment of Penrith Stadium to create a modern venue that enhances community engagement and entertainment opportunities in Western Sydney.
Features:
The redeveloped stadium will have the capacity to accommodate up to 30,000 spectators and host around ten concerts each year. In addition, smaller areas within the precinct will be available for private events, including meetings, conferences, and catered functions.
Designed as a multipurpose venue, the new Penrith Stadium aims to attract a wide range of sporting events while continuing to promote the development of rugby league, rugby union, and football in the region.
The project is being carried out by John Holland Group and is expected to create approximately 500 jobs during construction and another 650 jobs once operational, providing a significant boost to the Western Sydney economy.
The redevelopment is scheduled for completion in 2027.
