Huckabee and Heery Sports have been selected to provide architectural and engineering services for the renovation and expansion of Tarleton State University’s Memorial Stadium.
Initial plans include expanding stadium seating from 7,400 to 9,400 and converting the west-side stands to seating for home fans. Renovations will include an expanded press box and suites, additional premium seating with chair backs, expanded entrances and ticket booths, and improved concession facilities. The football field and track-and-field surfaces will be replaced as part of the project.
Planning and design will begin immediately. Renovations will commence in late May 2017, with the expectation that they’ll be sufficiently completed for the first kick off in 2018. The stadium will be useable throughout construction, including during the 2017 football season.
Huckabee, formerly located in Stephenville and now headquartered in Fort Worth, will provide design assistance and construction administration services. Heery Sports will lead the design process, bringing more than 50 years of expertise in collegiate sports design. The firm has completed stadium projects for the University of Texas, Texas State University, Texas Tech University and the historic Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
