Introduction:
Brighton & Hove Albion Women has unveiled plans for the UK and Europe’s first purpose-built women’s football stadium. The venue will be one of only three dedicated women’s football stadiums globally, marking a significant step in the club’s long-term vision for the women’s game.
Features:
The proposed stadium will have a minimum seating capacity of 10,000 and will be linked to the American Express Stadium through a newly planned bridge connection. Built at Bennett’s Field, the design will also include underground parking facilities while maintaining convenient level access for supporters.
The club aims to open the stadium by the 2030/31 season, subject to planning approvals from Brighton and Hove City Council and Lewes District Council.
The project highlights the club’s continued investment in women’s football and complements the existing training and administrative facilities at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre in Lancing.
Once completed, the stadium will provide Brighton’s women’s team with a dedicated home venue designed specifically for female athletes and supporters, strengthening the club’s position as a leading force in global women’s football. It also represents a major milestone in Brighton’s 2030 development vision.
