Abilene Christian University announced plans for two new on-campus stadiums and the Board of Trustees has given approval for construction to begin on the university’s first on-campus football stadium with $30 million investment.
ACU will officially break ground for its new Wildcat Stadium at a ceremony after 11 a.m. Chapel on Friday, Feb. 19, during Sing Song weekend on campus. This is another huge milestone toward our effort to build one of the finest facilities in NCAA Division I FCS football,” ACU director of athletics Lee De Leon said.
The board has voted to begin construction with $37 million committed and $13 million still needed to fully fund both projects. Schubert also said he is confident in the university’s ability to secure additional commitments during construction.
