Greg Lawless, Arena Group CEO, has announced Paul Bryant as CEO of the Arena Americas division, 5th January 2017.
Paul has most recently been successful in the areas of business development and commercial growth initiatives as EVP and CCO of IEWC Corp, an employee-owned, Milwaukee-based global distributor of wire, cable and wire management products. Paul has also led various business units within NOVA Chemicals Corporation, a plastics and chemical company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, with Executive Offices in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
World Number One Ranking
The Barclays ATP World Tour Finals was a truly memorable event: as Arena Group celebrated an unforgettable project at The O2 in London, installing over 8,500sqm of bespoke temporary event structures and the Murray brothers captured the nation’s hearts when they achieved World number one rankings in singles and doubles, November 20th, 2016.
Arena Group has secured a new three-year contract with The Jockey Club, to supply temporary event infrastructure to a number of the UK’s most esteemed racecourses, October 2016.
Building on a relationship dating back over over 26 years with The Jockey Club, Arena Group has been awarded a three year contract to supply Cheltenham, Aintree, Epsom Downs and Newmarket racecourses with temporary structures, interior design , furniture and tableware, spectator seating and scaffolding to the most notable dates in the equestrian calendar.
The use of Arena’s demountable, or semi-permanent, seating systems meant the Club’s upgrades could be achieved quickly and economically.
Following consecutive promotions from Conference Premiership and League 2, the club was taken over by the Al Qadi family in February this year, and has since enjoyed an impressive third promotion into League 1. With the team performing well on the pitch the demand for tickets is up and the new owners have invested in upgrading the aging ground.

Building on its successful, longstanding relationship with the PGA, Arena Group was again entrusted to match the headline sponsors’ prestigious reputation with a high quality finish of the event structures and seating at the Wentworth Club for the European Tour’s BMW PGA Championships, 26-29th May.
Bradley Merchant, Arena Seating’s project director and his 20-strong team were pivotal in the transformation of the Windsor Castle grounds into a venue fit for a momentous occasion in Royal history. Event organizers H Power called upon Arena Group’s 250 year heritage supplying ceremonial and iconic events, acknowledging an occasion of such global interest could only be delivered by the most trusted suppliers in the events industry.
Arena Group supplied 59 temporary tower structures and 2,031 temporary tiered covered seats to the world-famous Virgin Money London Marathon, 24th April 2016.
Along the 26.2 mile route through the UK’s capital city, Arena Group installed all the mile and kilometre marker towers, beginning at Blackheath Common’s start line right through to the last marker before the finish line on The Mall, in front of Buckingham Palace.
Arena Group was pivotal in supporting The Jockey Club’s transformation of the World-famous Aintree Racecourse for the 2016 Crabbie’s Grand National with temporary event seating and structures. David Mullins trained Rule the World won everyone’s hearts and the £1million prize money when The Grand National became the nine year olds first steeplechase victory.

The introduction of new features such as the Arena Deck viewing area in front of The Chair Pavilion and the double decker Owners and Trainers hospitality facility this year were great examples of the fantastic advances in the experience we were able to offer our guests.”
Arena Group added Guinness to its Cheltenham Festival offering for the first time, delivering the new look 1,300sqm Guinness Pavilion alongside the 12,400sqm World’s longest triple decker hospitality venue overlooking the course, March 15 – 18, 2016.
The Festival has grown to attract 250,000 visitors to the four day highlight of the jump racing calendar, with £4.1 million prize money contested across 28 races culminating in the Gold Cup. Arena Group supported Cheltenham Racecourse, a Jockey Club Racecourse, with the expansion of facilities to accommodate the increase in hospitality tickets.
As Bristol celebrates being crowned European city of sport 2017, Arena Seating supplied Yate International Gymnastics Centre with temporary seating for its grassroots interclub competition, 28th January – 15th February 2016.
Tony Sainsbury, Arena Seating project manager and two additional crew members took just four hours to install 284 red plastic tiered tip-up seats over an 8 row structure. The structure was built using a 254mm rise under structure, with galvanised handrails and debris netting to the sides and rear of the temporary grandstand. This netting created a concealed area for valuable additional storage space, helping the venue to maximise limited space.
Mark Thorne from Acro Gymnastics comments: “Arena Seating has been supplying the home of the King Edmund Acro Gymnastics Club for the past nine years, over which we have seen the popularity of grassroots gymnastics go from strength to strength. This year, our Yate club alone now holds 1,400 members, but over this interclub weekend we shall see children from another 23 clubs across the UK compete, with ages ranging from 6 to 12 years old.”
Tony Sainsbury adds: “It is a privilege to work with Yate International Gymnastics Centre year on year and see the popularity of the sport grow, and in turn the audience members also increase. The team are always on hand, ready and able to change the number of required seats at late notice, as events like these are dependent on ticket sales.
“This event showcases Arena Seating can deliver temporary seating ranging from large Olympic venues right down to small grassroots sports venues– no project is too big or small for our team to take on.”

Olympia’s London International Horse Show attracted equestrian fans from across the globe, blending nailbiting show-jumping competitions, horsemanship displays and festive shopping stalls - 15-21st December 2015.
Arena Seating installed 7,586 tiered temporary seats at Olympia – 5,191 were public Tip-up seats and the remaining 2,405 were upholstered Instyle VIP seats.
Within the venue, Arena Seating also installed press and competitor interview platforms home to the world’s sports journalists for the week, follow spot platforms facilitating illuminations throughout equine performances, judge platforms offering a clear view of the indoor arena and hospitality platform supports.
Indoor arena entrance doors, jump stores, presentation areas, video screen supports, a bridged logo platform and ménage surface retaining walls were also supplied by Arena.
Arena Seating project manager Martin Clark comments “It’s always a challenge to meet the demanding schedule, whilst allowing the other suppliers to also complete their work. We interface with at least 10 other company’s so it is crucial that we work together to ensure the build is completed swiftly – we usually have a build time of 8 days but this year we completed the install in 7 days, a testament to the hard work of the team.”
Highlights of this year’s equine spectacle included Jos Verlooy from Belgium and Germany’s Hilmar Meyer being names Puissance champions after clearing a staggering 2.15m (7ft 1 inc) over the famous wall, plus British star Ben Maher scooped the €15,000 prize in the winner takes all Christmas Master showjumping competition.
Arena Group supplied stunning event overlay for the first visit of the Presidents Cup to Asia, October 6-11, 2015.
The Presidents Cup was a passionately competed tournament, showcasing world class golf at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea, in Songdo IBD. The 11th iteration of this prestigious bi-annual tournament saw team USA victorious over the International team by just one point after four days of brilliant golf.
