Ladera Sports Center Launches Youth Volleyball League

Friday, Aug 11, 2017

Ladera Sports Center announced today that it has launched Ladera Volleyball League, a youth league for boys and girls in second through eighth grade. The sports center has partnered with Prime Volleyball Club of Orange County, California, to coach young athletes in the fundamentals of volleyball.

The league will begin with evaluations on August 14 to place each athlete on a team. No tryouts will be held. It will officially kick off on August 21 with one practice and one game per week.

"The Ladera Sports Center team is excited to announce our new league that will help young athletes learn and develop their skill as an individual volleyball player and in the team sport," said Steve Williams, chief executive officer of Ladera Sports Center. "We are thrilled to be partnering with Prime Volleyball Club, a well-recognized and very talented group of coaches in Orange County. Our goal is to provide each athlete with a fun and relaxed league and are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the gym."

The league will run from August 21 through November 3, when an end of season tournament will be held. The cost is $440 to register until August 13, and increases to $490 between August 14 and August 28. If multiple athletes are registered, a $25 discount will be provided for each additional child's registration fee. Each registration includes 10 games, team and individual pictures, a volleyball, game uniform, team snack after each game and team awards.

Since its opening in 2016, Ladera Sports Center has become an increasingly popular venue for a wide range of athletic competitions, camps and classes, open gym and private training for basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, dance, pickleball and more. The sports center is also home to the San Clemente Volleyball Club, an award-winning club for boys and girls ages 10 to 18; Prime Volleyball Club, the host of club teams, camps and clinics for boys and girls of all ages whose staff includes three coaches with USA Olympic Team coaching experience; and Team Nikos, a youth AAU club program with 16 teams ranging from 2nd to 12th grades.
