FC Porto is the first European football club to enter the metaverse with Upland

As the first Portuguese football club to bring the roar of the stadium to the metaverse, FC Porto is a pioneer in interacting with supporters and empowering FC Porto and Upland communities to participate in new types of value creation and experiences. With this agreement, the two partners join forces to build the future of fandom in the metaverse.

FC Porto's entry into Upland includes the opening of the city of Porto with NFT properties mapped to their real-world addresses that fans can buy; the construction of the Estádio do Dragão of the FCP; and also the launch of the first package of NFTs from a European football club. Exclusive to Upland, fans can collect common and rare NFTs through fun and engaging gameplay mechanics and offer their NFTs at player-owned and operated stores located at their virtual properties in the metaverse. The first phase of FC Porto's entry into Upland will take place during the 2022/23 season.
