China hosts its first national ice and snow competition after the Winter Olympics

In 2022, China has entered the post-Olympic Winter Games era. The 2022 China Curling League was held from November 13 to 19 in the city of Yichun in China's northeastern Heilongjiang Province. It was the first ice and snow event held in China in the post-Olympic era, bringing together more than 120 competitors from 24 teams from national training teams and 8 provincial-level regions.According to the Information Office of Yichun Municipality, with a view to the 2026 Winter Olympics, the league will allow to control the training effects of players, identify additional talents, continuously promote the long-term development of Chinese curling, and improve the overall strength of national teams.

In recent years, the city of Yichun has dynamically expanded its ice and snow sports offer and has made efforts to become the "hometown of curling". Famous for its forests and dinosaur fossils, the city is a major eco-tourism center in northern China. It is the largest city with a high China's forest cover of 84.7 percent, which is home to the largest and most intact Korean pine forests After the Winter Olympic Games, Yichun intends to continue economic development in curling based on ecological solutions and encourage more people to practicing this sport by promoting curling culture.
