$7.5M Renvoation for Lupton Stadium at Texas Christian University

15 February 2016

The Lupton Stadium of Texas Christian University, Texas, was revamped on a budget of $7.5 million recently, lending a whole new look to the edifice. Jim Schlossnagle who coaches the home team of TCU, The Frogs, was beside himself with elation.

The stadium has been home to uncountable games played by The Frogs since 2003. It now boats of brand new locker rooms, classroom, lounge for the team, sports medicine center, equipment room and coach’s office.

This refurbishment was long awaited, thus much welcome when it did occur.

Schlossnagle, who has been there every step of the way throughout the renovation, said, “It’s very well deserved on the part of the players and the great coaches that we’ve had come through here. It was nice to really focus in on the guys and their needs and really take care of them at the highest level.”

Jim was given the opportunity of giving his input at all the meetings during construction due to which the idea of building on site was suggested. He says he’d always wanted that facility for the players.

As per the TCU360 report, TCU Athletic Director, Chris Del Conte, affirmed this by saying, “Having first-class facilities with all the modern amenities will also enhance our recruiting efforts.”

Del Conte added, “The athletes’ experience in the baseball program will be enhanced thanks to the donations of TCU benefactors.”

The renovation is now complete and the baseball season, which commences on February 19th, will witness the game against Loyola Marymount University happening in an all-new Lupton Stadium.
