Millennium Stadium to host the 2017 Champions League final

22 June 2015

The Millennium Stadium in Cardiff is set to host the 2017 Champions League final, according to Sky sources.

Next season’s decider will be held in San Siro, Milan, but it is believed that Cardiff is the favourite to host the 2017 final.

No final decision has been made but it is understood that the Welsh capital is the favoured choice with an announcement due to be made on Monday, June 29 when UEFA's executive committee meets in Prague.

The Millennium Stadium staged six FA Cup finals between 2001 and 2006, while Wembley Stadium was being rebuilt.

The news will come as a boost to Wales who lost out to Scotland in their bid to be a host nation for the 2020 European Championship.
