Large Sports Complex And Hotel Proposed In Jackson

29 June 2016

A 152,862-square-foot sports complex that could include a hotel and senior living center is being planned for vacant land in the Village of Jackson in Washington County.

Jackson Properties, LLC is proposing the development north of Hasmer Lake, east of Highway P.

The proposed project includes a full-size soccer field, 10 volleyball courts, five basketball courts, batting cages and a driving range. The development could also include a 10,000-square-sports medicine clinic and a 13,000-square-foot fitness center and office space.

There is also space for four retail sites that are 12,000 square feet each, a 7,500-square-foot restaurant and a four-story hotel, according to documents filed with the village.

The application for the sports complex was filed by Phil Dahlberg, with Dahlberg Law Group of Jackson on behalf of Jackson Properties, LLC. Jackson Properties LLC includes John Wundrock, of Jackson and John Dowd, of River Hills.

Kraig Sadownikow, president of American Design & Build, Inc. in West Bend and the mayor of West Bend, is designing the complex. He referred questions to Dahlberg, who did not return repeated phone calls.

The village’s approval of the project is subject to the resolution of pending litigation involving the village and Jackson Properties LLC, relating to the parcel where the project will be built, said Jackson Village Administrator John Walther.

Walther would not comment further on the case.

On June 23, Washington County Circuit Court Judge Andrew Gonring made a judgment in favor of the village for $1.2 million. A telephone conference is scheduled between both parties and Gonring Aug. 3.

Regarding the sports complex proposal, Walther said it is “interesting.”

“It will go through the normal vetting process like any concept plan does with our village,” Walther said.

The plan commission will review the concept plan Thursday.
