The newly renovated Jack Burger Sports Complex will re-open in September.

The recreation centre’s public pool will re-open on Sept. 8. It will be available for swim teams, pool rentals and aqua fitness.

Aquatics programming will start on Sept. 21, along with the opening of the community room, mezzanine and canteen.

The Jack Burger Sports Complex has been under renovations for about one year. The project received approval for a $6.4-million renovation and expansion that was largely funded through development charges, building reserves, gas tax funds, hydro funds and debenture payments.

New additions to the recreation centre include:

• New pool viewing and change rooms including a family accessible change room.

• Central customer service.

• Elevator and accessible arena viewing.

• Accessible components, such as pool lifts and more.

The municipality is holding an official opening ceremony on Oct. 17.
