Grande stadium turf being replaced

The artificial turf is being placed at Grande Communication Stadium in advance of the soccer season. City officials said the cost of the turf replacement is $666,375.96. The project was paid for from the Sports Complex Fund -- the 4B tax that was from collected 2000-2017. At the end of 2018, there was $32.432 million in the fund, city officials said Monday.

The council originally approved the turf replacement with a project cost of $680,940.96. Based on that expenditure, the cash remaining in the complex fund is $31.751 million.

The turf at Grande previously was replaced was at the end of 2008.
