Braves May Add Zip Line to SunTrust Park

29 March 2016

While you may not be able to zip to the Braves' new ballpark, you may be able to zip around SunTrust Park itself.

Braves Executive Vice-President Derek Schiller says a zip line is part of the team's effort to make an outing to the ballpark more family friendly.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports the zip line would most likely be placed behind the video board to carry people from one end of the concourse to the other.

Schiller also reveals plans to use SunTrust Park as a stand-alone concert venue apart from the summer concert series sponsored by Coca-Cola.  The club's already booked its first non-game day concert, although Schiller does not reveal the act.

Schiller shared these developments at the Atlanta Business Chronicle and Atlanta Sports Council's Business of Sports Summit.

Apart from using the ballpark for concerts, the Braves have partnered with Live Nation to develop and operate the Roxy Theatre as part of the mixed-use development surrounding the Cobb County ballpark.  The venue will not have fixed seats, but there will be an upstairs VIP section and premium seating.

The Braves open their final season at Turner Field April 4 at home against the Nationals.
