Stadium and grandstand seating is always considered an important issue in the design and construction of sports venues. Accommodating maximum number of people in the given space while providing sufficient room for movement is a great challenge. Stadium designers all over the world work in tandem with the seating suppliers to bring out best possible seating solutions for the sports venues and arenas.

A stadium typically consists of different classes of the audience and seating is one of the important factors used in this differentiation. With standards like BS EN 13200-4: 2006 being implemented, sports venues world over have started to adhere to the respective seating standards and some seating vendors are even going beyond the standards to provide comprehensive and quality seating solutions.

The Offerings

Pakar offers products to every kind of sports venue-stadium, arena etc. with all kinds of seats that can be designed to the custom requirements.

Bucket Seats

The bucket seats are polypropylene injection molded to a thickness of 5mm and surface finished to give a smooth and shiny appearance. Some of Pakar seat models feature a double wall at the back rest. The seats are subject to Ultra Violet (UV) light protection treatment before being distributed for outdoor use. Pakar bucket seats can be fitted directly on podium steps, on risers, steel beams and pedestals using specially designed brackets.

Tip-Up Seats

Tip-up seats feature a base (seat pan) and a separate, ergonomically designed back rest. These self-supporting seats are made of UV stabilized polypropylene. Pakar Tip-Up Seats have the option of basic seat, padded seat and armrest option. Some of the seat models are fitted with springs which enable the seat to 'tip up' automatically, thus a spring-assisted tip-up seat. Some of the seat models however, are fitted with counterweights on the under side of the seat pan. These counterweights help to keep the seat in a tip-up position all the time, thus a gravity-assisted tip-up seat.

VIP Seats

Pakar VIP seats are upholstered with expanded foam surrounding a steel frame and covered with 100% non-tear, removable fabric. VIP seats are installed between steel armrests along supporting steel beams. The armrests are covered in integral self-extinguishing polyurethane and are fitted with springs that enable the seat to 'tip up' automatically, thus a spring-assisted VIP seat.

Grandstand

Pakar specializes in manufacturing superior quality grandstands. Pakar grandstands are built from welded frame systems that comprise of interlocking braces, ties, beams and deck units. Pakar designs and manufactures these systems for grandstands, stadiums and sports halls, complete with Bucket seats, Tip-Up seats, Benches, Roofing and more. These systems lock together to create a rapid, efficient and stable grandstand structure.

Theatre Seats

Pakar upholstered theatre seats are specially designed to provide superior spectator comfort. Fitted with armrests, seat pans and backrests, Pakar Theatre Seats are made from polyurethane surrounding a metallic frame. Armrest designs are interchangeable: Pakar produces table-armed, laminated, wood, upholstered, and cup holding varieties of the armrest. These are also fitted with a device that assists the seat folding process and a range of leg designs, including movable, standing and bridge type varieties.

Safety and Quality Control

Pakar is committed to maintaining safety and security standards across its whole range of seating systems. Pakar equipment can be moved safely to any location, including uneven ground surfaces. The seating equipment is constructed from corrosion-resistant galvanized high tensile strength steel, while the balustrades and handrails meeting the 10kN/m loading limits. The aisle widths are generously spaced at 1.8m and brace and tie connections are welded onto frames. Pakar grandstands are equipped with a sufficiently wide exit staircase and vomitory system.

The grandstand designs comply with all the latest safety and security standards including durability against a 10% surge load - the preferred and the minimum standard for safe grandstand designs.
