23 June 2016

The city of Grapevine and Simon Property Group, owner of Grapevine Mills, announced June 22 that Fieldhouse USA, a sports complex, will open inside of Grapevine Mills January 1, 2017.

The indoor sports facility will host numerous youth and adult sports leagues, tournaments including Grapevine Parks and Recreation Department’s basketball and volleyball leagues. Leagues will begin forming in early 2017.

“Grapevine Mills continues to demonstrate their commitment to the Grapevine community by attracting dynamic, family-friendly retailers and entertainment options,” Grapevine Mayor William D. Tate said in a news release. “Additions like Fieldhouse USA add value to our community by supporting both economic development and a commitment to healthy living.”

The 106,000-square-foot indoor sports facility will feature nine basketball and nine volleyball courts serving guests by offering year-round league play in team sports such as basketball, volleyball and indoor soccer. Fieldhouse USA also offers programs for performance training, all-sports camps, baseball/softball, birthday parties, boot camps, cheerleading, club volleyball, corporate events, dodgeball, lock-ins, skills training, taekwondo and tumble.

Grapevine officials project the facility will host more than 1.6 million visitors annually and generate millions of dollars annually and have a major economic impact for the city.

Since the first location opened in Frisco in 2009 it has generated over $92 million for the city, according to Fieldhouse USA.

CEO Gary Oliver said the facility’s second location will open in Mansfield in November.
