Oconomowoc Sports Booster Club Funds Storage Facility

21 September 2016

A new storage facility is under construction with the help of the Oconomowoc Sports Booster Club. The storage building will be located on the south end of Ed Rux stadium and will look similar to the current building.

"This new building will allow us to free up space in the existing concessions building," OHS athletic director Kevin Flegner said. "We will now have room for visiting teams to have more locker room space and provide hospitality and shelter for visiting coaches and personnel. We’re very grateful to the boosters for their continued support of improvements to the athletic facilities that benefit all students."

The current concessions building has not only been used for selling football and soccer concessions, but also for storing track and field and football practice equipment. Athletic equipment and supplies will be moved to the new 24-by-60 foot steel building, along with motorized carts, tents, flags, field markers and all the equipment needed to run track and field events and football practices and games.

"We are fortunate to have so many great supporters of (Oconomowoc Area School District), and nowhere is that more evident than with the Oconomowoc Sports Booster Club,” superintendent Roger Rindo said. "This new storage facility will enhance an already outstanding athletic complex. We are grateful for their continued support of our students and OHS athletic programs."

Jon Fleming is the general contractor, and Griswold Construction is working on the concrete. Total cost of the structure is approximately $53,000 and is entirely funded by the OSBC. No district funds will be used.

"The Oconomowoc Sports Booster Club is proud to support the building of the new Athletic Storage Building," OSBC president Terry Brandl said. "It will be another great physical representation of the commitment that this club and our community has to Oconomowoc Athletics."
