Oakland, Alameda County approve Ronnie Lott stadium plan

14 December 2016

The Oakland City Council and Alameda County each approved Ronnie Lott’s $1.3 billion stadium plan on Tuesday.

According to Filipa A. Ioannou and Rachel Swan of the San Fransisco Chronicle, the non-binding agreement was unanimously approved by the Oakland City Council and passed with a 3-1 majority in the Alameda County Board of Supervisors.

“To me, it’s worth taking the next step because we’re not committing taxpayer dollars to do it,” board President Scott Haggerty said.

The Raiders met with Lott’s group on Monday despite owner Mark Davis being outwardly committed to a move to Las Vegas. The proposal from Lott remains the most viable plan to emerge so far to keep the Raiders in the Bay Area
