1) Aukland's Parnell College sports Herculan!

Known as the 'City of Sails', Auckland has always been a connoisseur of the best things that life has to offer. From fine cars and wines to the America's Cup-even education for their children-money has never been an obstacle.

The new 17 million dollar building for Parnell Private College is no exception to this fact. Already boasting state-of-the-art science and technology facilities, Parnell College now also can lay claim to a top quality, cushioned gymnasium floor that carries on the legacy of excellence.

Herculan is proud to play a role in this landmark, with its MF 10+3 cushioned system being installed in the gym. This was done with the inclusion of retractable seats encroaching into the gym by 12m. Since it also facilitated use of the gym as an examination hall, MF was the perfect choice of system.

2) FSB, Cologne International Trade Fair for amenity areas, sports and pool facilities.

A rising tide lifts all boats!
‘Blockbuster’ would be a befitting term to describe the combined response that the Action and Herculan team received at the recent fsb show in Cologne, Germany

Exhibitors and visitors came from all corners of the earth to visit us as well as many other exhibitors. Professionals from the Sports & Leisure Industry from as far as Australia, the Far East, the Middle East, USA, Iceland, Russia and many other countries visited our magnificent booth at the exhibition. The booth was bright and striking with eye-catching banners.

Two seminar sessions were held in the Hotel Intercon on the day before the show opened. These were attended by many delegates. Gary Stephenson and Ron Fenhaus presented for Action Floor Systems, while Jan Willem van Dijk presented for Herculan Sports Surfaces. Lively discussions took place on the DIN tests as well as the new European Norms.

Our Action/Herculan dinner at the Haxenhaus that evening was attended by more than 130 guests. The actual exhibition opened on Wednesday, 31st October, 2007 and our five meeting tables, as well as the coffee bar was active for the next three days. There was a constant stream of visitors. At dusk, we had an opportunity to listen to the soulful rendition of the national anthems of the participating nationalities who attended the dinner.

The show closed on Friday evening, 2nd November 2007.

Overall, our tryst with Deutschland, besides being an unforgettable event, also is one of the most prolific experiences and we are left yearning for more.

We all eagerly await fsb 2009: 28th - 30th October 2009!

3) ‘The Big 5 Exhibition’
Event:  Big 5 Exhibition.
Venue: Dubai
Dates: 25-29 November 2007

The Big 5 Exhibition’ is a mammoth event combining seven major exhibitions under one roof, featuring more than 2,000 exhibitors from 67 countries. The joint Herculan/Action Team exhibited once again at the event which was held over five gruelling but thoroughly enjoyable days from 25 -29 November 2007.

Beginning with the main event on 24 November 2007, Jan Willem van Dijk and David Leggate, from Herculan and Action respectively, presented a seminar at the Jumeira Rotana, for which we were joined by our partners from the GCC states as well as from Syria, Iran and Yemen.

This was followed by lively discussions on topics ranging from the new CEN norms to the dynamics of US Dollar/Euro exchange rate. This seminar not only proved to be highly informative, but also provided an ideal setting to have a tête-à-tête amongst those present. The seminar concluded with a scrumptious Lebanese Dinner hosted on a Hotel Rooftop.

The exhibition booth put up by the joint Action/Herculan Team received an amazing response. Our small booth, jammed between Halls 4 and 5, attracted visitors in numbers from over 24 countries. Much to our delight, there were not just enquiries but also firm orders, which really made the long hours seem worthwhile and truly satisfying.

Going by the total footfall received at our booth and the enthusiasm and response generated by our visitors, we're quite sure that we put up an outstanding show which the other 2,328 exhibitors just couldn't match.

Taking a cue from the fact that our participation in the 'Big 5 Exhibition' proved to be successful and productive, we have already confirmed our participation next year (23-28 November 2008)

4) Herculan Synthetic Track set for the XII Ibero American games

The running track at the Estadio Tierra de Campeones stadium in Iquique, North Chile has been installed. Mr. low and his team have done a fantastic job constructing this track and getting it ready for the XIII Ibero American Games (Juegos Iberoamericanos de Atletismo) that will be held from June 12 to 15, 2008. This is the first ever Herculan synthetic track that has been laid down with an IAAF Class 2 Certificate that qualifies the Herculan track to match the international standards.

The running track is equipped with 8 lanes and all areas for field events. With a total surface area of approximately 7,200 sq. m, the Herculan SR Sprint is considered to be a top product for international competition certified by the IAAF.

After building three tracks in Chile last year, two more tracks with an IAAF Class 2 Certificate are also in the pipeline. One in Antalya, Turkey, that is ready and awaiting the IAAF Survey, and the other in Urfa, Turkey, that is still under construction. The construction of both these tracks is being taken care of by our Turkish partner, Ketu Insaat ve Tic. Ankara.
